Gmarket Haulage 10

I used up money in my Cash Balance so that I wouldn’t have to pay anything myself [read: because I have no monies], so I tried to get as many items as I could. The total came to about 88,000Won for the entire order including shipping (which was 3.05kg). I ordered a grand total of 5 items (10 if you count them as separate little bits) so that’s not too bad for a day’s worth of shopping considering I bought 2 pairs of shoes in the process. I mean, $80AUD – lolololol. I go out for lunch and dessert and indulge in some form of entertainment and that’s $60 gone without having anything to keep/ bring back home with me >_>

Whilst there were “5” items I ordered, they were from 4 different sellers, so I’ll just go by that.

This time, the package came really quickly (I ordered on a Monday or Tuesday and I got it within 7 days). The EMS guy also decided to ring our doorbell and deliver it too. I was having trouble deciding what to do in this weather (FYI it’s like 20 degrees, cloudy, slightly breezy and drizzling) and didn’t want to take a car since the package was so light. Glad that problem was solved!

Seller 1: Shoes

Both of these boxes were taped to each other. Kinda cool, but also really stupid because it meant that Gmarket would shove these straight into the box without separating them. That’s why I got a large (size 4) box that was half empty.

I bought a pair of higher-than-usual military lace up boots and a pair of cream coloured pointed toe flats(they have a slight heel). The boots were roughly about $20 and the flats were only like $8. As usual I ordered size 235. These were both from the brand Bonnie, same as the pair of oxfords from my Haulage 9 post.

Flats? Very comfortable, sizing is great. Not really liking the shape of the shoe on my foot (because I’m not used to it), but they’re super comfortable and feel like flats but just super comfortable even with a slight heel. Came with shoe inserts and again, rods to keep the shoes’ shape.

Boots? Not really liking it, sizing is too big – an entire size larger. I measured the sole and was disappointed to find that it was actually more of a 245 than a 235. That’s a huge difference believe it or not. The “leather” is way shiny as you can tell in the photo and there was some glue on the back of a shoe that hadn’t been wiped. But I think these are probably going to last longer than the other pair I cracked (which is going to be disposed of soon). If these boots fail on me, I’m going to quit buying these types of boots. They’re comfortable though. But the sizing is just… I don’t know what to do.

Most likely I’m going to use some sort of buffer to make the “leather” less shiny.

Seller 2: Nail polish

I was randomly browsing best sellers and what not and one of the sellers attracted me because they had a 3+3 listing.

That means, buy 3, get 3 free. The listing was only about $8 so I was naturally surprised. They had relatively good feedback and a load of great fun colours to choose from, so what was there to lose? Well, $8 I guess 😛 The worst case scenario was that these nail polishes were going to be really bad quality, but I had faith in the feedback. So I took a chance and went ahead.

The package was really well packed. There was bubble wrap, foam wrapping around each inidividual nail colour and all of this came in a box too. The seller also threw in a box of free cotton pads (for removing nail polish, of course) which was really nice of them!

From this photograph I think you’ve gathered that I sort of made a mistake by ordering 2 sets of very similar colours. I think I just really wanted two colours in general and it ended up this way lol. I should have ordered a mint green or some other fun pastel colour, but then again I didn’t know how good or bad these polishes were.

The brand of these polishes is called Dabo Ritzy (or just Dabo). The cap is a really crappy sort of plastic, but otherwise I have no complaints. I will be coming with a review of these polishes really soon.

EDIT/ You may find a review of these polishes in this post here: https://kmisa.wordpress.com/2011/01/10/dabo-ritzy-nail-polish/

Seller 4: Diary

It’s the new year soon and 2011 diaries are a must if you’re completely messed up [read: forgetful] like I am 😛

I ordered this diary, which is actually a diary refill. You’re not supposed to use this alone, but you can if you want to, because the cover is made of a slightly thicker card. This costs/ retails at 10,500Won (says so on the back of the diary on the sticker), but I was sneaky and got rid of the seller’s 100Won (~10c) discount and applied a 1,000Won (~$1) coupon discount instead 😛 To my surprise they were still really generous and gave me a free sheet of emoticon stickers as well as a yellow highlighter. How neat!

At the back of the refill is a catalogue for their other products and 3 sheets of stickers for the diary.

I must say, this was a lot thicker than what I expected, but it’s nicely constructed. My problem with this is that there is no string to keep track of what page you’re on (I’ll glue some myself), and also there are typos in this seeing it is after all not an English based brand. This is only noticeable on the back “About me” page – instead of messenger it says messanger lol. But don’t mind me – I’m usually sharp at spotting other people’s typos >_>

The reason for buying a refill is because I still have my cher diary cover for 2010. I saw the 2011 ones on sale at Kinokuniya the other day and all I can say is – OMG RIP OFF MUCH. They’re still like $30AUD ish (I paid that much last year and our dollar went up btw – so why is it still so expensive now?!) and this year the cover colour is an off white grey – YUCK! I’m saving my money and just changing the inside! I like the cover very much, so I’ll just reuse it!

I measured beforehand (with the exception of the thickness of the diary which is about twice as thick as what it should be) the refill, and it fits very nicely within the covers. Next year I’ve got my fingers crossed that the Gmarket seller will stock 2012 diary refills.

The brand of the diary is wonder full or full design.

Seller 4: Dress

I was originally looking for shirts/blouses but their one sizing thing annoyed me. I pretty much gave up until I randomly found a seller who had dresses at the end of their listing. I decided to go for it because it was ridiculously cheap (like about 5,900 Won – so that’s about $6) on sale.

It fits me just fine. Length is good. Straps are probably too short and need to be longer, and not too well constructed (you can see at the end there’s a loose strand – there are bits at the top of the strands which look a bit dirty at the corners – but nothing a wash can’t fix, I think). It comes with a lining, but it’s still kinda see through when worn! Sigh. I don’t know what to do when it comes to slightly transparent white dresses as such 😦 It’s still cute though, and it’ll be worn one day when the occasion is right. That way I now have 2 white dresses to go around. Yay! Dress also comes with a label, but of course, no tag.

This was sort of something to use up money in the order. Next time I’ll definitely be buying a more expensive dress (there are some really beautiful ones I wanted but they were around the 25,000Won+ mark, which was a bit out of the question since I was trying to use up my Cash balance – heheh).

Conclusion

I’m happy with the nail polish and the diary refill. I’m not too sure about the dress though it’s on the positive side, and same with the shoes. I guess it’s because that shoe brand isn’t great. There’s no way of telling what brand it’s going to be though before you buy it! I’ll just have to be careful. But no shoes for me until a pair gets worn out and needs replacing. I’m at my limit with shoes so that’s the end. I still need to expand my dress collection – but that’ll be a slow process.

Can’t wait for another Gmarket haulage – but it’ll definitely be a while yet, unless money starts to fall from the sky. Until next blog!

  1. Zomfg those shoes are heaps cute! I’ve had a Gmarket cart going for a week now and I think I’ve lost all the items I’ve put in my cart. Boo hiss 😦 Keep your head up on the job hunt! First jobs are never easy, but you’ll get there..

    • Thanks Maggie ♥
I have to keep reminding myself my job searching in actual life only started 3 weeks ago >_> And I think I remember some of the stuff you were adding to your cart! And best of all I haz link to the Etude House nail pen thingy lololol – yes, my internet browser is choc-a-gmarketlinks. 😉

  2. Thank you for your review! It’s a pity about the boots, I wonder why they gave you the wrong size.

I love your cher diary ;A; cher totes are awesome! It’s a pity that Kinokunoya overcharges lol. Though shipping with the magazine costs around the same so I don’t really have a choice other than to buy it 😦

    • Hi Vermillion! Social networking is magic lol 😀
I guess the sizing was just crappy T.T It says 235 on the sole, but even when I took the shoes out of the box I knew they looked big 😦 Sucks, but I guess I’ll have to wear thick socks or something? Lol.
I agree with Cher being so lovely – I love their stuff ;_; I lost my first Cher tote when I went to return books at the library tho >_> I checked the diary and for it to be shipped from Japan from I think Rakuten was $15 shipping already, and the diary retails $15 anyway lololol – so might as well just get it from Kino 😦 Shipping is an overkill </3

    • Hi – thanks for your comment 🙂
The nail polishes are actually very good, I just haven’t posted up a review yet. It should come within the next week or so 🙂

    • Hi Vivi,

The seller of the dress is 미미앤코3 (the number after the name is 029533776). They appear to be out of stock.
But the quality of the dress isn’t bad – it’s worth more than I bought it for. Only problem is the style of the dress – you can’t belt it up and you probably will need to wear a slip.
